Tromsø, Norway’s most famous city above the Arctic Circle, is known to be one of the best places in the world to observe the Northern Lights.
With a historic centre distinguished by its centuries-old wooden houses, it was once an essential epicentre of the whaling industry.
The region, beyond the green and pink in the starry sky of the North, snatches us still with the breathtaking scenery of the Fjords, slopes of high mountain ripped by the seas, and the still existing scholarships of the ancestral Sami people and culture.
This modern Arctic city is a place where nature and culture go hand in hand, and we invite you to explore.
Velkommen til Tromsø!
Tromsø, capital of the Norwegian Borealis Aurora, is where the experience in Lapland begins.
We take advantage of the day to get to know each other, present the objectives of the trip and explore the corners of this unique city that is above the Arctic Circle.
We soon set off to the southwest on a visit to Sommaroy Island, a fishing village full of small beaches and unique scenery, accompanied by tiny red houses topping the landscape.
In the afternoon, we return to Tromsø to watch the sunset with the best view of the region after a cable car ride.
But it is at night that the emotions begin, with the Northern Lights hunting! It is in ErsFjordbotn that we explore this breathtaking landscape accompanied by this spectacular and colourful phenomenon.
We began the morning with a walk in the snow, just as the old explorers did. A unique experience!
In the afternoon, we return to explore the centre of Tromsø, visiting its typical wooden houses, the different harbours that characterize the island and the ancient Arctic cathedral with contemporary architecture.
The second night of the Auroras Borealis is in Grotfjord, where we visit the beach and seek unique perspectives with the dance of the Northern Lights.

Ready for the best experience of the entire trip? We spent the day with the Sami community that lives on herding and raising reindeer herds. We experience their daily routine and hang out with their animals.
Lunch will typically be Sami in a tent while we listen to their history.
Tonight, the Northern Lights await us in Skulsfjord, where the gods will show us the most fantastic lights of the universe.
